Born in Hamilton in 1958, Jenkinson studied Fine Arts in Photography at Elam. She is a working photographer and has exhibited her works for over thirty years both nationally and internationally. Her work is held in 18 national and 8 international collections. Jenkinson has been the recipient of many awards, most notably the Jury Prize Wallace Arts Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council Travel Award. She also won the Antarctic Artist’s Fellowship in 2005 which resulted in her “Antarctic” project. She is now the Associate Professor at Elam School of Fine Arts.
