Born in New Zealand in 1952, Ball attended Elam School of Fine Arts in the 1970’s. Using pencil, graphite and oil, Ball has been known over the past several decades for his hyper-realism portraits. He won the People’s Choice Award in 2006 after being named a finalist in the Wallace Arts Awards. His works can be found in public collections throughout New Zealand. He now works at Manukau School of Visual Arts as Head of Painting.
