Born in England, George Chance (1885-1963) is well-known for his sepia-toned photographs of the New Zealand rural landscape. He won the silver cup at the international exhibition of Hong Kong University. Considered as one of the most important photographers in New Zealand, his photographs were also hung at London and Paris.
